Obituary

Andre R. Mondor, 81, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, June 26, 2020, with his family by his side in Venice, Florida. He was born in Cochrane, Ontario, Canada.

In Canada, he worked hard to provide for his family and coached his sons in Hockey and Lacrosse. In Florida, Andre co-founded Prestige Automotive Services, 1981-2006. He was a member of the Venice Sunrise Rotary Club for many years. His hobbies included fishing, golfing and RV traveling with his wife and many friends. He lived life to its fullest for his wife, kids, and grandkids. Everyone Andre met was always considered a friend.

Andre is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Therese Mondor. Additional survivors include 4 children: Mike (Lori), Louise (Larry), Diane, and Richard (Liz), and 9 grandchildren: Ashley (James), Andre, Adam (Alexandria), Bryant, Robby, Bryce, Nathalie, Brock, and Caroline.

Other survivors include his brother, Aurel (Christianne), his sister, Julie (Paul), sister in law Madeleine, (Jean Claude), brothers in law Andre (Jacqueline) and Robert and many nieces and nephews.

Andre was preceded in death by his parents Julien and Victoria, brother Silvio and Remi and sisters in law Iva and Lise.

In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made to Venice Sunrise Rotary Club Foundation P.O. Box 1602 Venice, FL 34284

Due to Covid-19, there will be a private family mass in the near future.

I am so sorry to hear my Uncle Andy passed away too soon. I will cherish the moments we shared. Such a loving gentle giant. Uncle Andy always made you feel like royalty. Peace to Aunt Terri, my cousins and his grandchildren. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Andre’s passing. We have know Andre for forty years. From our Rotary Club, from the community, and from all his friendship and hard work for and with Fred Lugar. I never knew Andre to be unfriendly or harsh with anyone. He was friendly, helpful, conscientious, and a hard working man. A great husband. Loyal and true to everyone. Lots of friends.
