Beatrice Prior Towsley of North Port, FL passed away on March 6th, after a long hard fought battle.
Bea was born February 18, 1938 in Springfield, VT and moved to North Port, FL in 1996. Beas’ passion for life, her values, her belief that tradition is important to the survival of family will live on in her children. The many close relationships that Bea has maintained over the years is a reflection of how special she was. She touched numerous lives and will remain in our hearts forever. Bea enjoyed the company of friends, quilting, crafting, cruising, traveling, summers at Tinmouth Pond, and participating in Relay for Life. She was active in the North Port Shrine Club and Cracker Clan #78 Hillbilly Gals.
In 1977 Bea earned her LPN license from New Haven Technical College and was employed at RRMC in the pediatric care unit. In 1987 she received her real estate license and worked for Coldwell Banker Real Estate.
Bea was predeceased by her husband Albert Prior. They have five children. Barbara Grassi and Robyn (David) Nelson of Rutland, VT, James (Tina) Prior of Pittsford, VT, Pattie Prior of North Clarendon, VT and Tammie (Tim) Mirabile of Albany, NY. She is survived by her husband Bryce Towsley of North Port, FL. Five children, Bryce (Robin) Towsley of North Clarendon VT, Jeff (Mike) Towsley of Burlington VT, Rae (Laraine) Towsley of Plantation FL, Ransom (Tina) Towsley of Pittsburg, PA and Scott (Louise) Towsley of Big Bear, CA. Six sisters and four brothers, Angelina (Newman) Tomes of OH, Shirley (Gene) Webb Williams and Mary Jane Smith of FL, Catherine (Howard) Smith of NH, Avis Wilkins of CT and Cheryl (Steven) Anderson of RI. Alfred (Barbara) Hewey of NH, Richard Hewey of OH, Raymond (Carol) Wilkins of FL and Vern Wilkins of Texas. She was predeceased by her brother Donald Hewey. She leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of good friends. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice, North Port or Relay For Life, Rutland VT. Farley Funeral Home in North Port, Florida is handling the arrangements.
