A beloved husband and best friend, a proud and loving father and grandfather, Carl Pike joined the heavenly angels on Nov 21.
He was born January 13, 1940 to Carl and Ruth (Bass) Pike, and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. He graduated from North Carolina State University (1962), and began his computer systems career. Over the years, he lived in Endicott, New York, Montgomery Village, MD, Berkeley Lake, GA, and Venice, FL
He is survived by his cherished family: wife, Dianne (Keegan), daughter, Karen Jennings (Vincent), son Kyle Pike (Diana), and grandchildren Dan, Jewel, and Ava, and sister Zenobia Newstadt (Barry).
Friendliness and a sense of humor were his defining characteristics.
He had unlimited curiosity and interest in learning about our world and seeing new places. He valued shared experiences for creating forever memories.
Other things he loved/appreciated/enjoyed: Oldies music, NC State Wolfpack, cartoons, sports car & formula racing, jazz, Scotland, logic puzzles, ice cream, college basketball, silly stuff, computers, Atlanta Braves, puns, meatloaf sandwiches, Australia, cars, pepper vinegar, science fiction, and anything that makes you laugh.
The caring staff at Tidewell Hospice House provided a peaceful end to a good life. We are forever grateful.
