Janie Dugan Todd has passed away. She was a strong and unique woman who was greatly loved by everyone who knew her. Janie was born in Kekering, Ohio near Dayton on November 3, 1946. It was in Dayton that she met the love of her life, James Lee Todd, aka Jimmy, when she was sixteen. They were married on October 16, 1964 and they shared their lives together until he died in January of 2017. They moved from Dayton to Venice in 1972 to be near family and enjoy the warmth and beauty that Venice had to offer.
Jimmy and Janie enjoyed rock and roll, vintage Corvettes, motorcycles and spending time together. He was a fine musician who played guitar in several local groups and Janie loved to go to his gigs to cheer him on. Janie developed severe multiple sclerosis later in life which impeded her mobility but never dampened her spirit. Her courage and capacity to enjoy her life has been an inspiration to all of her friends and family as her positive attitude never waned.
Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Kenny Dugan and her husband James Lee “Jimmy” Todd. She is now reunited with them and her friends and family like to imagine her riding on her motorcycle with Jimmy through the heavens. Rock on, Janie. You will be missed.
