John McCormack, age 81, of Venice, died on June 1, 2008. He was born in New York, New York on August 8, 1926, and came to Venice from Yucaipa, California. John served in the US Navy (9 years), the Merchant Marine (2 years), and the US Air Force (13 ï¿½ years). He retired from the Loma Linda VA Hospital in California where he was the food service manager. He was a member of the VFW, the DAV, and the American Legion. John was also associated with the Boy Scouts of America for 62 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Surviving family members include his wife, Trudy; sons John of Yucaipa, CA, Barry of Arizona, Ray of Texas, Patrick of North Port, Francis of Venice, and Arman of North Port; daughters Rose of California, Tina Angle of California, Chona of Venice, and Christine of North Port; 29 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Sharon.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6th from 2 – 4, 6 – 8 pm and on Saturday, June 7th from 10-11 AM at Farley Funeral Home, Venice. A scripture service will be at 11 am on Saturday, June 7th at Farley Funeral Home, Venice. Memorial donations can be made The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O.
