Shirley Jeanne Bossi (nee Davis) passed away peacefully on January 16, 2021 at the age of 84, surrounded by her children. She was a loving and caring wife, mom, Mom-mom, sister, and friend.

Born in Salem, VA, her family settled in Parkton, MD. She was a member of the first graduating class of Hereford High School, where she made life-long friendships. She graduated from Maryland General School of Nursing in 1957 and worked for the State of Maryland where she retired as the Director of Nursing. She and her husband raised their family in Baltimore County, MD in a neighborhood where she continued to make many more life-long friends. She loved the beach, which is why Florida was the perfect place to reside after retirement. She loved and cherished her family, making every holiday filled with laughter. After the move to Florida, she looked forward to and loved a “virtual” happy hour to toast the week and catch up on family happenings. She was also an active member at First Baptist Port Charlotte. She will be remembered as a beautiful person who always cared about others. “Your Mom (Mom-mom) is your biggest cheerleader” and she proved that every day. The world is missing a special person, but we know she is with Jesus, at peace and in heaven watching over us.

She will be dearly missed by her husband of 63 years, James Ronald Bossi, Sr., children: Cynthia Hanna, James Bossi, Jr. (Michele), and David Bossi (Laura); grandchildren: Rick, Jr. (Lindsay), Ryan (Kelsey), Jimmy (Lindsay), Jaclyn, Drew, and Ellie and great-grandchildren: Makenzie, Savannah, Logan, Ricky, III and Addison.

It is so hard to put into words how much your mom was loved and respected. She was an extra mom when we needed one and even when we didn’t. All of the good times our families had together will be cherished forever.
