Thomas “Sweet T” Dean Hughes, 62, of North Port, Florida, passed away January 19th, 2021. Tom was born July 25th, 1958 in Waverly, Ohio to his parents, Harold & Evelyn Hughes. Tom relocated to Florida in 1976 and soon after met the love of his life, Sharon in 1978. They married on December 16th, 1978 in Venice, Florida. They have been married for 42 years! In their first year of marriage their first son Thomas Dean Hughes Jr was born, this was the start to the family that Tom cared so much for. Having three sons, Tom provided for his family through his hard work in the construction industry. During his 35 plus years in the field of moving dirt, Tom loved to discover artifacts such as fossils and shark’s teeth. When Tom was not working, a past time of his was gathering collectibles. Tom was proud of his collections that he formed over the years, which the family holds on to this day. Over the years Tom developed & lived by his motto of “Don’t Leave One Behind”, by helping & touching lives of others wherever he went. Tom is preceded in death by his infant sister, Pam & William Hughes. Tom is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sharon; sons, Thomas “T.J.” Hughes, Steven Hughes, Daniel (Meghan) Hughes; Grandchildren, Thomas Dean III, Brianna, Conlin, Cora; Siblings, Candy (Ed) Fite, Pete(Betty) Hughes, Drema (The late Victor) Lytle, Johnnie (The late John) Irvin, Charles Hughes, Debbie Hughes; a nephew and niece that held a special spot in his heart, Charles(Katherine) Hughes Jr. & Brittany(Chris) Hoover; & additional other nieces & nephews.
