Arthur H Burmaster passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021 at home with his wife and son by his side in Nokomis, FL.

Art was born in Utica, NY on October 13, 1937 to Arthur A and Mary Humbrecht Burmaster. He was raised in Washington Mills, NY and attended New Hartford Senior High School. Art married the love of his life Rae Wehrle on June 27, 1959 in New Hartford, NY. A blessed and loving union of 61 years. Art and Rae enjoyed their winters at King’s Gate Club in Nokomis, FL for over 21 years. Art was a Master Machinist for Munson Machinery in Utica, NY for over 37 years. His favorite times were spent at Eatonbrook. You could always find him either hunting, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, or swimming. His other love was woodworking, mainly crafting bowls.

During his time in Eatonbrook, Art held the title as President of Eatonbrook Lake Association and Sauquoit Valley Frosty Knight Snowmobile Club. He loved hosting the Eatonbrook Lake Association yearly picnic among friends, family, and neighbors. His love of family was shown always, but also during the annual family picnic and other family gatherings in Eatonbrook. Art was a gentle, easy going soul who would do anything for anyone. He was a kind, patient, giving and funny man who will be missed dearly.

Arthur leaves behind his beloved wife Rae, their son Wayne and daughter in law Cindy, who he called his daughter Burmaster. As well as his cherished and precious grandchildren; Christopher, Caroline Burmaster; his brother Robert Burmaster Sr of Utica, NY; as well as his brothers and sister in laws; Ronald and Beverly Wehrle of New Hartford, NY, Sheila and Robert Twitchell of Zepherhills, FL, Wayne Wehrle of Waterville, NY, Mike and Sharon Wehrle of Sauquoit, NY, and Steven Brown of Sauquoit, NY. Art also leaves behind many cousins, especially Chuck Burmaster, nieces, and nephews. He leaves his best friends and buddy Gary (Cris) Townsend, who were always there for him. His fishing buddy DeWayne Williams, and the Monday Night Coffee Group; Bob, Bill, Chuck, Curt, and Gary,as well as his dear friend Mary Jean Aikins and family.

Art is predeceased by his parents Arthur and Mary Burmaster; mother and father-in-law Harold and Helen Wehrle; as well as sisters in law Carole Brown, Marilyn McCusker, Bonnie Wehrle, brother-in-law Dennis Wehrle, dear friend Bob Aikins and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Epiphany Cathedral on April 12, 2021 at 10:30 am. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a memorial donation in Arthur’s honor to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238.
