Catherine Elizabeth Morin Catherine Elizabeth Morin Donahoe, 95, a former resident of Venice, FL died June 2, 2006 in Rhinelander, WI. She was born on June 5, 1910 in Benson, Minnesota. Catherine grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School in 1930. After working as a dental assistant for Dr. Van Slyke in Benson, she went on to nursing school at St. Catherine’s College and received her nursing diploma from St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul Minnesota in 1941. She passed her Florida State Board of Nursing test in 1967 at the age of 57. She then worked for eight and one half years as a charge nurse on the night shift at Venice Hospital. She retired at the age of sixty-six and one half years. She lived alone in Florida for three years after her husband Hugh died in 1988, and then came to live with her daughter Dianne Parling in Watersmeet, MI.
She is survived by her sister Mary Crow of Brooklyn Center, MN, her son Robert Donahoe of Palmetto, FL, and her daughter Dianne Parling of Watersmeet, MI.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 10th from 11:00am – 12:30pm at Farley Funeral Home Venice Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2006, 1:00pm at the Epiphany Cathedral, Venice, FL.
