George Allan Baker, 83, of Nokomis, FL died January 18, 2006. He was born April 16, 1922 in Boonton, New Jersey. Mr. Baker moved to this area in 1979 from Croton, New York. He was the Manager of Grand Union Stores in upper New York State for 30 years, retiring in 1979.

He attended the Epiphany Cathedral in Venice. Mr. Baker was a Veteran of WWII, U.S. Army from 1942-1946, where he was awarded two Purple Hearts.

He is survived by his son George A. Baker, Jr. of Venice, FL; daughter Stephanie Loos of Homosassa Springs, FL; daughter Ann Sherry Wheeler of Peekskill, NY; 5 grandsons & 1 granddaughter.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Epiphany Cathedral on Thursday, January 26, 2006, 1:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at the Epiphany Memorial Garden, with Military Honors.
