Kathleen A. Laheney of North Port, Florida was born on January 25, 1957 and passed away on April 9, 2021.

Kathy passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with a brief illness. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Those who were fortunate enough to know her enjoyed her quick wit, generosity and enormous loving heart for people and animals.

She was born at Westchester Square Hospital in Bronx, New York. She grew up in Ramsey, New Jersey and graduated from Ramsey High School in 1975. She later moved to Florida to help care for her parents.

Kathy was the Floral Manager at King’s Supermarket in New Jersey and the Floral Buyer at Whole Foods in Florida. She had a true gift for horticulture, and she really enjoyed the good times with her colleagues.

She is preceded in death by her adoring parents, James and Florence Laheney and her brother, Michael Laheney.

Kathy is survived by her loving partner and soulmate of over 30 years, Donna Howard; brothers, James (Carol) Laheney, John (Carol) Laheney; sisters, Patricia (Martin) Kolb and Barbara (Doug) Guido; along with her precious nieces and nephews, Alana, Christopher, Shannon, Nicole, Ryan, Kayla and Megan. She will forever be missed by her fur babies, Sammy, Sophie and Bella.

The family is at peace knowing that Kathy is in Heaven joining her parents and younger brother, Michael. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
