Obituary

Kent M. Scully, 75, of North Port, FL and Middletown, CT lost his battle with Covid-19 on February 9, 2021.  He was born in Middletown, CT on August 30, 1945 to Martin and Helen (Dillon) Scully. Kent served in the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pat (Kosko) Scully, and their daughter, Paige Scully.

Kent, a CPA and his partner Chris Wolf established Scully & Wolf LLP in 1973. The firm audited cities, towns, and non-profits throughout the State of Connecticut. He was proud of his many career and charitable accomplishments.

He was an avid U-Conn men and women’s basketball fan, NASCAR fan, football fan, and he loved the game of golf. These sports brought him a lot of joy.

Kent and his wife and daughter are blessed with a large circle of friends in both Florida and Connecticut. We are grateful for their love and support during this very difficult time. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

There will be no service at this time. There will be a celebration of life when it is safe to do so. Memorial Donations may be made in Kent’s name to his daughter’s program; Vista Life Innovations, 1356 Old Clinton Road, Westbrook, CT 06498

I wish David was here to help me write the words to express our sorrow and convey what Kent meant to us. I met Kent and Pat through David. They were close as brother, and two of the 4 Amigos. David passed last year and now they are together, (probably at heavens sports bar) which helps to comfort me. Kent was the best, so gracious as a host, and a party lover, always opening up his heart and home to friends. I particularly loved talking sports and participating in his “pools”. His love of UConn and golf made him super competitive. Beating him was not easy but it was fun. On the serious side, Kent was known throughout the business CPA world as a leading professional giving trusted service to all clients. Pick a virtuous word, and it applies to Kent. He is so missed.

Patty and Paige I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Kent was one of my first mentor's in my career out of college at Scully & Wolf, LLP and he will always hold a special place in my heart. I was very fortunate to grow and learn directly from him and to know this wonderful man for many years. I have such fond memories of you Patty as well at our annual Christmas parties. My heart goes out to you and your family in this time of sorrow. Love Leslie Zoll

Very surprised and saddened by Kent's passing. Knowing Kent since the 70s both professionally and personally he was always a class act. In business he always provided the highest quality of service. Playing tennis, golf and at the 19th hole were always loaded with great belly laughs. I will miss Kent but glad I got to know him.
