William J. Good (Bill) went to be with his beloved Lord by his loving family on April 16, 2021. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Bill was born on June 17, 1934 in MacDonaldton, PA to the former Mary Gondek and John Andrew Good.
He was a Building Contractor for over 55 years and was the past President of the Somerset County Home Builders Association receiving the Builder of the Year award.
He was a member of the Berlin Lions Club and was the oldest member of the club. He further received the Melvin Jones Award, the highest honor given to a member.
Bill was an avid hunter and enjoyed being outdoors. He experienced many trips to Colorado to hunt elk and mule deer. He was a member of the New Baltimore Sportsman’s Club for many years.
He loved going to church and was faithful to his Catholic religion and God. Bill held a special friendship and high regard for Monsignor Tomeselli of St. Peter’s Church in Somerset, PA.
Bill loved to play shuffleboard and cards with his family, grand -daughter Emilee, and friends and was a formidable competitor.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Edna Virginia (Belcher) Good of 65 years – soon to be 66 years in June.
Bill is also survived by his sons; Gregory William Good and wife Susan Good of Fairhope, PA, Jeffrey Allen Good and wife Jacqueline Good of Berlin, PA and daughter, Jane Ann Morris of Venice Florida; grandsons, Tyler Good and wife Alison Good, Eric Good and wife Danae Good; granddaughters, Emilee Morris, daughter of Jane Ann Morris and Kelsey Good, daughter of Jeffrey and Jacqueline Good. His only great-grandchild is Theo George Good, son of Tyler and Alison Good.
He is survived by his sister Barbara Pacifico, the former Barbara Good, and her husband Harry Pacifico.
He was preceded in death by his sister Marian Zeigler, the former Marian Good and her husband Donald (Goose) Zeigler. He is survived in death by brother-in-law James Belcher and wife Alice Belcher of New Jersey, sister-in-laws, Donna Belcher and preceded in death by her husband Sam Belcher and survived in death by Judy Belcher, wife of his former brother-in-law Merle Belcher.
A memorial service will be scheduled in his home state of PA in the near future. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in MacDonaldton, Pa or the American Cancer Society. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements.
